Welcome to My Blog
I’m really excited to be starting a blog! I wanted to start off by sharing what my hopes are for this blog.
My Goal
My goal is to share helpful tools, therapy insights, and resources to support the well-being of others on their therapy journey. I have been licensed for over 10 years and have worked for big corporations, as well as non-profits, and now I’m working in private practice. So I’ve seen a whole range! I’ve seen how the system can work, and how it can fall short. I’ve also been particularly struck by just how hard it is to navigate as someone trying to find a therapist! If there is something in this blog that helps you get connected to a therapist, or some other resource, that is a good fit for you, then this blog will be worth it. Those are my hopes are for this blog.
Topics I’ll Cover
I’m going to try to balance some general tips for wellbeing, information on how to navigate not only finding a therapist, but also understanding what type of therapist you want to work with, and then various other tools and resources. These days there are so many wonderful podcasts, books, and free resources online, I would like to connect you to some of my favorites!
Clinical topics will include depression, anxiety, ADHD, sleep difficulties / insomnia, and neurodiversity. I also want to give some overviews on the different schools of therapy and other information about providers. There is a lot of jargon and so many different approaches to therapy. Ultimately, it’s the personality match that makes probably the biggest difference, but if you realize you want a somatic therapist, not a cognitive behavioral therapist, having those terms will really speed up your success at finding someone.
